The Skinny Bat

WHAT IS IT? & HOW DOES IT WORKS?

The The Skinny Bat is made of real wood (ash), weighs about 15 ounces, has a 1 1/4 inch barrel & has a real bat handle that feels like a regular game bat in a player's hands.

The The Skinny Bat was developed to improve bat speed, help hand-eye coordination & enhances muscle memory.

The Weight - Most people think the way to increase bat speed is to swing a bat heavier than the game bat. Actually that is completely opposite of what has been proven by physiologists. To increase the speed of the swing you need to condition your (fast twitch) muscles to move faster. The way to do that is to swing a lighter bat. You actually get to feel what it is like to swing faster and over time your muscles are trained to do so with the game bat. By adding weight to your bat, you create unnecessary strain and are forced to create bad habits to compensate for the weight and actually slow down your muscle fibers.

The Barrel - The barrel is only 1 1/4 inches and you practice with this bat by hitting golf ball size wiffle balls. It takes extra concentration and focus to make solid contact.

The Handle - The handle is a pro taper handle that is identical to a regular bat. This sensory feature helps a player translate the skills developed with the The Skinny Bat to the game bat.

Muscle Memory - The only way to be consistent with the skill of hitting is to repeat the swing with proper mechanics over and over. Since the weight of the bat is only 15 ounces, the swing can be done correct repeatedly without fatiguing and without creating bad habits.
