DRILLS
All drills with the skinny bat should be done with Golf Ball Wiffle
Balls.
Soft Toss
The Drill: Stand about 3 feet in front of a tarp or net. Partnes is on one knee at 45 degree angle and tosses Golf Ball Wiffle Balls towards the hitter. The hitter hits thje balls at the tarp/net.
Focus: This helps the hitter
develop the proper stroke. Since the bat is light (about half the normal
bat weight), the bat control is optimal and the strength, power and
confidence is heightened. The light bat also makes it possible to get
many fundamentally correct repetitions in and not fatigue and develop
bad habits. Not just more swings, more quality swings.
The Challenge: The barrel is very skinny and the balls are very small.
If takes focus and concentration to make solid contact.
Hitting Tee
The Drill: Set the Wiffle Ball Golf Balls on the regular hitting tee.
Work on inside, middle and outside pitches.
Focus: This allows the hitter to isolate hitting the ball backside,
up the middle, and to pull the ball. It takes precise concentration
to hit the small ball with the small bat.
The Challenge: The barrel is very skinny and the balls are very small. If takes focus and concentration to make solid contact.
Live Pitching
The Drill: Have someone sit about 15 feet in front of the hitter and throw pitches at the batter. The batter hits the ball.
Focus: This is a live game-like
setting. The hitter must hit the ball where it is pitched and can get
virtually 10 quality swings for every 1 swing with a regualr bat because
the bat is light and the hitter does no fatigue and the balls do not
go far and do not need to be chased after.
The Challenge: The barrel is very skinny and the balls are very small.
If takes focus and concentration to make solid contact.
Bunting: Same as above for live pitching. To bunt a Wiffle Ball Golf
Ball with The Skinny Bat TM is difficult and takes ultimate concentration.
